Fundraising Opportunities

The South-Doyle High School Band members represent some of the finest students in our school; therefore we are always looking for avenues of possibility to encourage, challenge, and reward our high achievers. They deserve the best and, with the help of our parent booster organization, we can offer our band members exciting opportunities to embellish their academic, social, and musical training. This requires an additional source of revenue, and we generate it through a series of fundraising programs.

These programs create a forum of mutual exchange to tell everyone the good news about our band programs, our students, and share a refreshing view point concerning the youth of today who are destined to be the leaders of tomorrow.

* These events are mandatory for all students - no minimum (all monies go toward general band expenses)
*School Coupon Book Sale - September, 2008- monies go to school account (2 books per student required)
*Smoky Mountain Marching Festival - October 18, 2008 - all students are required to work this event.

We need everyone to come forward and contribute to this goal.

Students with financial hardships are required to participate in all fundraising opportunities. Failure to do so could result in the student not being able to participate in a given activity. In the event a student receiving assistance chooses not to participate in a fundraiser opportunity or fails to honor arrangements made for payment of fees, the Booster Club assistance being provided will be stopped and arrangements made will be void. Current fees will be due and payable at that time.

Fee In Lieu of Fundraising

The funding for band activities is based on an up front fee plus fund raising throughout the school year. Minimum goals are established for each fund raiser so as to fund the budget. However, families may opt out of all fundraising by paying a fee equivalent to the total of the profit each student is required to raise. This year’s opt out fee is $300. If you pay the opt-out fee and still participate in one or all fund raisers, 100% of the profit from any items you sell will go into your student account since your minimums will have already been met.
